Type Locality and Naming

Includes in Hisar-Zarafshan ranges, and Obisafit, Turkparidin, Chakykalya typesections. It is distinguished and detailed by V. D. Saltovskaya (1965; 1966; 1974).

Synonym: Bachauldin suite, Бачаульдинская свита

Lithology and Thickness

It is represented by limestone conglomerates, conglomerate-breccia (at the bottom), fusuline algal limestones with lenses of cherts. Thickness 100-150 m.

The Bachtysurkh Fm (Бачаульдинская свита) is conformably or with slight erosion overlain by the upper Moscovian - upper Carboniferous Daraxtisurkh Fm (дарахтисурхской свитой).

Regional extent

They are widespread in the Turkestan, Zarafshan-Gissar, and Karategin regions.

Fossils

In the limestones, there are upper Bashkirian - lower Moscow algae - Danezella lutugini Masl., Beresella erecta Masl. et Kul.; fusulines Pseudostaffella ex gr. gorskyi (Dutk.), Verella spicata Dalcu., Eofusulina ex gr. triangula Raus. et Bel. Palaeofusulina subtillisima Putr. and others; brachiopods Choristites priscus Eichw; corals Chaetetes radians Fisch., Ch. tompsoni Reed, Jakovleviella ex gr. lissitzini Fom. and others.

From the fossil data, it is represented upper Bashkirian - lower Moscovian for schematic stratigraphic purpose.
